Mainland Cheese Revealed by Dietitian as a top supermarket food in Australia

2 MINUTE READ

Mainland on-the-go cheese and crackers have been highlighted in the top 50 nutritional supermarket foods in Australia, according to dietitian Susie Burrell.

With more than 20,000 different food items in the average Australian supermarket, this list published in the Herald Sun provides a great guide on which ones stand out for their quality and nutritional value.

How did Mainland's cheese and crackers make the cut? Unlike many other cheese and cracker snack packs, Mainland's range includes high-quality crackers, making it a perfect on-the-go snack.

With more than 30% of the population fuelling up with three or more snacks a day, these packs are a convenient and nutritious choice.

Mainland cheese & cracker snack packs are available across New Zealand and Australia in over 9 SKUs/varieties. Here are two examples:

  • Edam Cheese with Water Crackers: Each 50g pack comprises 62% cheese. 11.0g protein, 10.3g fat, less than 1g sugar, 32% of your calcium RDI.
  • Tasty, aged cheddar with artisan crackers: Each 38g pack comprises 69% cheese. 7.6g protein, 10.5g fat, 2.6g sugar, 24% of your calcium RDI.

Additionally, Mainland offers Lunch on the Go packs in Australia, which include 8 cheese slices, 4 crackers, and relish, all in a 100g pack.

In 2023, Mainland took a significant step towards sustainability by reducing the need for 47 tonnes of paperboard per annum by removing the cardboard sleeve for the Mainland On The Go lunch snacking range.

The Craftsmanship Behind Mainland Tasty

Mainland Tasty Cheese is crafted using a simple yet meticulous process. Only the most delicious farm-fresh pasteurised New Zealand milk is used. The curds are cooked at 40°C, chipped or milled, then dry salted and aged for up to 18 months to achieve maximum taste.
