As a New Zealand company in Japan, Fonterra Japan is working on projects which enable us to contribute to Japanese society.
This is an educational project sponsored by the Government of New Zealand. It was developed to meet the "Sport for Tomorrow" of the Abe administration, which is an initiative to spread the value of sports and the Olympic Movement for the internationalization of education and a better future.
The program aims to provide Japanese youth with an intensive English learning program and a place for professional sports skills training.
Fonterra Japan supports 12 high school students studying in New Zealand for 3 weeks. Our support as a sponsor is in its eighth year since it began in 2014.
Students stay with a New Zealand family during the program and experience daily rugby training and English lessons.
The New Zealand Hokkaido Dairy Collaboration Project is working with dairy farmers to promote grazing and improve the quality of pasture in Hokkaido.
A project to investigate the possibility of grass farming in Hokkaido utilizing the know-how of grass farming in New Zealand with the goal of contributing to the profitability and sustainability of dairy farming in Japan.
This project, which started in 2014, is a joint project of three parties, the New Zealand government, Farmage, and Fonterra, under the cooperation of the Hokkaido Government and the Hokuren Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives.
