Since 2017 Fonterra has produced an annual Sustainability report which reflects our triple bottom line goals of Healthy People, Healthy Environment and Healthy Business.
Some of the topics covered in the reports include the progress we’ve made against our business, people and sustainability targets. Food safety and quality, our employee demographics, responsible procurement and how we support our communities is also covered.
Fonterra’s Sustainability reports:
We partner with organisations to collectively do more for our communities and show manaakitanga (generosity and care). Together, we’ll continue to support communities in need with the natural goodness of dairy. We'll work to protect and regenerate the environment for future generations, and provide the care and support that keeps our communities strong, both here in Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world.
We care about improving our water efficiency and water quality wherever we operate.
Healthy freshwater and ecosystems are essential to the long-term success of our business, and the communities where we live, work and farm.
Caring for the land by reducing our carbon footprint.
As a locally-owned co-operative, we care about the future of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Cows are the heart of every dairy farm, and their wellbeing is of paramount importance to us.
We know there is a close relationship between well-cared for cows and good milk production which is why animal care is a source of pride for every farmer.
Since 2009, Fonterra has been a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).
We are committed to sustainable sourcing of palm products and we are working with others to improve practices across the supply chain.
