Brian and Pirkko Gallagher are passionate about sustainable farming. Not because they have to be – because they want to be and know it’s the right thing to do.
With the support of Fonterra, DairyNZ, Auckland Council and local schools, the Gallaghers plant around 1000 trees on their property annually. “Every year for the last five years at least we’ve had one or two schools each winter – they come out and plant hundreds of trees, which the school kids have grown from seedlings”, says Brian.
